Mobile subscriber base in India has undergone a formidable change. It has expanded by manifolds! Earlier too, the access was available but locked to dongle users only. Also with the launch, Chandigarh has become the second city after Bangalore to be able to access Airtel’s 4G services on mobiles.
Availability of 4G services mean the user could easily stream a high-definition video with zero buffering and experience fast download speeds (10 movies in less than 30 minutes).
It also connects multiple devices without any experience constraint. It is a great boon for the Airtel mobile service customers in our honest opinion.
The company also notified users that they could upgrade to 4G on their handsets hassles free.
“We are proud to announce the launch of the much-awaited 4G on mobile, empowering residents in the region to upgrade to 4G. Given the large mobile subscriber base and increasing penetration of affordable handsets, the number of mobile Internet users is expected to go up to 330 million by 2016,” said Airtel’s official in a statement.
India happens to be third-largest Internet subscriber base in the world with more than 100 million users. Customers of one of the largest telecom operator in India using Apple’s iPhone 5s or 5c will have the first opportunity to upgrade their SIM card.
They can select a 4G plan or pack to start using the faster Internet service on their handsets. Apart from the iPhone 5s and 5c, Airtel’s 4G SIM will also work on Xolo LT 900 and LG G2 handsets.
While data browsing will be on the 4G network using TD-LTE technology, or on the 2300 Mhz band, voice calls will be routed on the 2G network seamlessly with the circuit switched fall back technology. For more information, visit your nearest Apple centre.
