CES 2016: Alcatel Pixi 3 8-inch tablet and four new Pixi 4 mobile devices unveiled

Alcatel, known for its affordable and entry-level smartphones has announced five new devices to be added to its Pixi 3 and Pixi 4 families of devices at CES 2016 in Las Vegas.

The new Pixi 3 (8) is an 8-inch tablet that will be running Windows 10 Mobile or Android 5.0 Lollipop.

It is powered by a Snapdragon 210 quad-core CPU with on-board Adreno 304 GPU and 1 GB of RAM.

The display will run at a decent entry-level resolution of 1200×800. It will also support SIM cards for GSM, 3G, and 4G networks. In addition to that, four new Pixi 4 devices have also been unveiled. The Pixi 4 (3.5) is running a tiny 3.5” HVGA display. It’s powered by an MT6572M chip with dual-core Cortex-A7 CPU and 512 MB of RAM. It has a 2 MP rear and 0.3 MP front camera. There is also a tiny 4 GB of expandable storage. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop.

The Pixi 4 (4) has a 4” WVGA display and runs on the MT6580 M chip.The chip has a quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7 with either 512 MB or 1 GB of RAM and either 4 GB or 8 GB of storage. Depending on the model, the camera is also different.

The lower-end model has a 2 MP rear and 0.3 MP front camera while the higher-end model has a 5 MP rear and 2 MP front camera. All models run Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The Pixi 4 (6) is a 6” phablet with stats more fitting today’s competitive smartphones. It has a 720p IPS display powered by a Snapdragon 210 chip, using a quad-core Cortex-A7 1.1 GHz and 1 GB of RAM.

Storage is still at a relatively small 8 GB but can be expanded with microSD cards. The rear camera is 8 MP with a 5 MP front camera as well. It offers LTE connectivity and a 2,580 mAh battery. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The Pixi 4 (7) is a monstrous 7” tablet at running at a rather unimpressive 1024×600 resolution on an MT8321 chip, housing a quad-core 1.1 GHz Cortex-A7 CPU and 1 GB of RAM.

It’s an 8 GB storage model with GSM and 3G support. The rear camera is capable of 2 MP shots while the front camera runs at 0.3 MP. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
