Apple iOS 10.2 beta 1 released with new emojis, camera features and much more

Apple has released iOS 10.2 Beta 1 with new emojis and enhancements. The new release will be available to all the registered developers. Incidentally, the Cupertino-based tech giant has released iOS 10.1.1 recently.

Apple has added complete support for Unicode 9.0 in iOS 10.2. This will extend the number of emojis that iPhone and iPad users will be able to include in their messages. If you install iOS 10.2 Beta 1, you will be able to find new emojis such as firemen, astronauts, judges, rockstars, croissant, duck, eagle, crab and unicorn including emotions such as a facepalm and shrug. Moreover, the existing emojis were given a new face lift.

iOS 10.2 Beta 1 with new wallpapers

The iOS 10.2 Beta 1 provides three new wallpapers and a new ‘celebrate’ screen effect that can be easily added to an iMessage. The Camera app has been refreshed with a new Preserve Settings option that will retain the Camera Mode, Photo Filter or Live Photo settings. You will be able to activate the feature under Photos & Camera in the Settings menu.

The newly introduced Videos App widget in iOS 10.2 enables you to view TV shows and movies that are saved in the app. Moreover, you can play the content easily with a single tap.

iOS 10.2 Beta 1 helps you to organize music

The iOS 10.2 Beta 1 has been refreshed with new organization options. This means you will be able to sort playlists by title, type, and date. It is also possible to sort tracks and albums by artist or title.

Apple had added new emergency contacts notifications which enable you to notify the relevant emergency contact whenever they make use of the Emergency SOS feature on their iPhone or Apple Watch. You will view a new popup notification to activate the feature after launching the Health app.

Regarding the iOS 10.2 Beta 1 release date, Apple has provided access to the beta only to developers. We don’t have any information as to when the update will be available to general public. It is highly unlikely that the iOS 10.2 will be made available in 2016. We can expect the release during MWC 2017.
