Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S price in India drops, but not as per expectations

Apple Inc. has announced a price cut on older iPhone variants in India right after the public announcement of new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. The maximum retail pricing of forerunners has been reduced by the company, though not as much as was expected.

As the report suggests, the 2013 model iPhone 5S having 16GB and 32GB storage variants were earlier priced for Rs. 44,500 and Rs. 49,500. But now onwards they’ll be available for Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 41,000 respectively.

Furthermore, iPhone 6 16GB and 64GB storage variants are now available for Rs. 40,590 and Rs. 50,430 respectively on Amazon India. While iPhone 6 Plus would now cost just Rs. 50,999 (16GB) and Rs. 66,000 (64GB).

With such a price cut, people still seem to be dissatisfied enough for they find it yet difficult to spend this much money over older generation devices.

This moderate price cut is being perceived as some technique embraced for the country’s high custom duty taxes applicable over imported electronic devices. Some believe that such a low price cut might also be because of rupee continuously losing its value over the US Dollar.

The speculations are about the extremely high pricing of impending iPhone 6S series by the company following such a little price cut in the previous series cutting down the expectations of general public.

The Apple Inc. has already made an avowal of their upcoming iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, contesting the rivals Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+, on their official homepage that are likely to sway the markets soon.

The new iPhones are expected to release in India later next month.
