Apple wireless AirPods expected to launch alongside iPhone 7

Apple is reportedly working on Bluetooth-powered wireless earbuds called AirPods, which is dubbed to release along with the official launch of the upcoming iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in September 2016. However, we don’t have any confirmation as to whether these new AirPods will be bundled with iPhone 7 product package.

Earlier, there was widespread news on the rumor mills about the Apple’s plan to release wireless earbuds. According to latest reports, the AirPods will make use of Bluetooth to establish connectivity with the device. It remains to be seen whether Apple will provide support for using the earbuds with previously released iPhones.

In all probability, Apple will ditch the traditional 3.5mm earphone jack from the upcoming iPhone 7 and will integrate lightning connector port. Hence, the latest move by Apple to introduce Bluetooth powered earbuds is seen as a major change by the Cupertino-based company to introduce significant changes in the upcoming iPhone 7.

With the elimination of the 3.5mm port, users have to find alternative techniques to experience audio in iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. As a user, you can either make use of the lightning connector powered EarPods on the bottom or an adapter that automatically converts 3.5mm male plug to a lightning connector.

It is expected that Apple will bundle the 3.5mm adapter along with iPhone 7 product package. Alternatively, you can also take advantage of a wireless Bluetooth device like the AirPod.

As per latest rumors, the upcoming new AirPod will have the capability to charge wirelessly and hence you don’t have to fiddle around wires between the left and right earpiece.

Even though Bluetooth enabled AirPods will be launched in September, there is no official confirmation regarding when the product will be available for sale.
