One of the biggest smartphone vendor Xiaomi will now be selling the Redmi Note 3 and Mi 5 on open sale. This means that there are no registrations required to make a purchase and you can buy the devices directly from their official website.
The sale starts today at 10 am. Redmi Note 3 can be purchased directly from Mi.com, Amazon India, and Snapdeal, whereas the Mi 5 will be available only through the official site but sans registration.
The announcement was made a few days back by Manu Jain, company’s head India division, where he took to Twitter saying that Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and Mi5 can be purchased without going through the previously adopted registration process. Both the handset will be available as part of an open sale, scheduled to commence from the 1st of June.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is touted as one of the best budget smartphones and comes in two models, 2GB RAM with 16GB of internal storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB storage capacity. The prices are Rs. 9,999 and Rs. 11,999 respectively. The phone has a full-metal body design along with an impressive 4000mAh battery. The company has already sold 6 lakh Redmi Note 3 phones within 60 days.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset and houses 3GB of RAM. The phone offers 32GB of internal storage that is not expandable, comes with a 5.15-inch full-HD display screen and is powered by a 3000mAh battery with support for QuickCharge 3.0.
The Mi 5 also comes along with a fingerprint sensor on the front face of the phone with a 4MP lens and houses a 16MP camera with OIS at the rear. The phone ships with Android’ds Marshmallow 6.0 preloaded onto it that runs MIUI 7 atop it.
The open sale of the device will allow aspirants to freely purchase the device, especially if they couldn’t do so during the earlier sales.
