Coolpad launched its Virtual Reality headset Coolpad VR 1x in India at a price of Rs. 999. The headset will exclusively be available on Amazon. The gadget works with any smartphone with a display of between 4.7 to 5.7 inches and should have a gyroscope.
The customizable lenses allow the user to adjust the focal length making the user comfortable enough for long durations.
Sayed Tajuddin, CEO of Coolpad India, acclaimed the launch of VR headset and announced that the gadget is particularly made for youth. He also mentioned that the launch was a strategy of the company to enter into the Indian technology market. By 2016, Coolpad may hit the launchpad with its other accessories such as Power Bank and Smartwatch.
Users need to slide in the smartphone in the VR headset’s slot. The strap keeps the Cool VR 1x steady when the user is moving his/her head. The VR 1x is said to be compatible with its Coolpad Note 3, Note 3 Lite, Note 3 Plus, and Max smartphones.
The recent disinvestment to LeEco has made the company’s approach towards its competitors a little aggressive, and this launch proofs just that.
