Huawei Mate 9 Lite reloaded with Kirin 655 processor and dual camera: Features, specifications and price

Huawei Mate 9 Lite has been unveiled in China in Grey, Gold, and Silver color variants with dual non-Leica camera on the rear. However, there is no information about the release date or pricing although the company has listed the phone on its official website. According to Huawei, the Mate 9 Lite features a dual rear camera setup mechanism without premium Leica sensors.

The latest release comes in the wake of the launch of the Huawei Mate 9 and the Mate 9 Pro a few weeks back. However, we expect that the company will reduce the pricing of Mate 9 Lite. Even though the sensors are not made by Leica, you can still feel the goodness of a premium smartphone.

Huawei Mate 9 Lite specifications

On the specifications front, the Huawei Mate 9 Lite features a 5.5-inch FHD 2.5D curved glass display, Kirin 655 processor, 3GB/4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB internal storage loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

While four cores run at 2.1GHz speed, the other four cores crank at a speed of 1.7GHz. Huawei has launched two variants of Mate 9 Lite. The 3GB model offers a 32GB storage capacity, while the 4GB RAM is equipped with 64GB internal storage. A slight variation is that the Mate 9 Lite is loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow instead of Android Nougat in Mate 9 handset.

Huawei Mate 9 Lite features dual-lens camera

The main highlight of Huawei Mate 9 Lite is the integration of a dual-lens camera on the rear. You have 12MP sensor and 2MP additional sensor on the back-side without Leica sensors. You will be able to capture images with the bokeh effect with the Mate 9 Lite. Talking about the front-facing snapper, the phone offers an 8MP sensor.

Huawei Mate 9 Lite features 3340mAh battery

Powered by a 3340mAh battery, the Mate 9 Lite includes support for all major sensors such as proximity, fingerprint, hall effect, ambient light, acceleration including a compass. With a thickness of 8.2mm, the phone measures 162 grams in thickness.

Recently, the company had launched the Mate 9 Pro with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display, Kirin 960 processor, Mali-G71 MP8 graphics, 4GB/6GB RAM, 64GB/128GB storage loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat. The phone features a dual 20MP and 12MP Leica sensors alongside an 8MP front-facing snapper.

As of writing this, we don’t have any information about the expected availability and price. However, we expect the Mate 9 Lite to be priced $50 less than its brother Mate 9.
