Intel Security has announced that the LG smartphones will come pre-installed with McAfee Mobile Security. The new deal will secure its G4 devices against security threats along with providing theft protection. With McAfee Mobile Security pre-installed on the LG G5, users will have antivirus and anti-theft benefits as well as enhanced privacy settings; thereby, improving the user’s mobile experience.
This is an extension of an existing agreement between LG and McAfee Mobile Security where the facility was made available on LG G4 phones. Recently. Intel Security’s Mobile Threat report established that there are three million devices that were affected by malware through mobile app stores only, in the past six months. It also found that in the fourth quarter of 2015, 24 percent more mobile malware samples were found than in the third quarter, indicating the importance of mobile security.

The McAfee anti-malware system scans apps and files from both, device and SD cards, to prevent corruption from malicious codes, viruses and trojans.
Ahead of the G5 modular phones launch, it has come as a key announcement. The new phone launch had come along with a few security concerns regarding the modules that could be attached to the phone. The device will come with a 5.3-inch screen along with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. It has an internal storage of 4GB (expandable up to 32GB), and front and rear camera are 16MP and 8MP respectively. The initial devices will be accompanied with a free cam-plus module.
Priced at Rs. 52,990 in India, the LG G5 was up for pre-booking on Flipkart till May 31. The pre-ordered devices are expected to be delivered by 4th of June.
