Microsoft to release Surface Pro 4, Band 2, Lumia 950, 950 XL in Windows 10 October 6 event

Microsoft Corp. will be revealing its new high-end Windows 10 for mobile smartphones at a press event going to be held on October 6 in New York. The invites have already been sent for this occasion that will start at 10 am ET.

The software company will showcase the new set of devices for Windows 10 ecosystem that includes: Windows 10 for Mobile Lumia Smartphones, Surface Pro 4 Tablets and Microsoft Band 2.

According to the reports, though the event will take place early next month, it is expected that none of the devices will be available then. Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is expected to be shipped sometime in November, and the Lumia phones & Band will most probably be available in the holiday time.

Taking the Lumia smartphones into consideration, Lumia 950 is dubbed as Talkman while Lumia 950XL is Cityman.

Microsoft Lumia 950 features a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB internal memory and 32GB storage capacity.

It supports 5.2-inch WQHD display with 2560 x 1440 pixels of resolution. It is also coupled with the 5-megapixel front camera, 20-megapixel rear snapper with 3,000mAh battery. The Microsoft Lumia 950XL comes with 5.7-inch WQHD display, octa-core Snapdragon 808 processor with 3,300mAh battery.

The rest of the features of the bigger handset are same as former one. Both phones may have Qi wireless charging & infrared scanner to unlock devices in seconds.

The Surface Pro 4 is expected to be launched with some improvements in its display, Windows Hello, refined Keyboard and fingerprint scanner. It may be available in two screen size variants: 12 & 14 inches.

Microsoft Band 2 is still a mystery for all. Let’s see what is there for us in the box on 6th October.
