Ola signs MoU for development of Safai Karamcharis

The most popular mobile app for transportation Ola has partnered with the Government for the socio-economic development of Safai Karamcharis and their families.

It has signed a MoU with National Safai Karamcharis Finance and Development Corporation (NSKFDC) which aims at providing livelihood opportunities to the safai karamcharis or the scavengers. Ola will especially be targeting women along with NSKFDC in their growth.

In the coming five years, Ola along with Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment will look into creating 10,000 women driver entrepreneurs. Not only will women be receiving better job opportunities but they will be trained under Commercial Motor Driving Training Program to be trained drivers. This will lead to a creation of female drivers in Ola.

This is a vital step for us as we will be looking into creating more mobilities for a billion pollution.”

He also emphasized the point that this initiative will look into creating better job opportunities for hundred and thousand people in the Country. Whereas the primary attention will be in giving better employment opportunities to the women.

Along with that women will help trained women with employment opportunities like assistance in buying a car directly from manufacturers. It will also with the help of financial institution provide monetary support to the female drivers.
