Renault KWID 1.0 litre version bookings open ahead of launch

Unofficial reports have confirmed that Renault will launch the KWID 1.0-litre first in India before the AMT variant. The company is pushing for the AMT variant to be launched in the festive season this year. The firm has already started accepting booking for the former model as it is expected to come in the market by the end of this month. The prices are yet not confirmed, but it is rumored to be between Rs 3.50 lakh-Rs 4 lakh.

When the French automaker announced the launch of KWID and AMT, it was accepted that both the product would come at the same time. But the automaker has some other plans.

It is not surprising that companies prefer to launch their model in the festive season. Some of the other significant launches within this next four-week will include the Renault KWID 1.0, Audi A4 TFSI, the Hyundai Elantra and finally Jeep brand which will come in the India market.

Currently KWID 0.8-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine is available in the market. The only complaint from the old model was the fuel consumption was underpowered. Paying heed to consumer grievances, Renault has announced the launch of KWID with a 1.0-liter engine.

Features

The upcoming model KWID powered by a 1.0 litre comes with 67 hp of power. It is mated with a 5-speed manual transmission. It will also have sports features like standard dual airbags and ABS. If one talks about dimensions the car measures 3679 mm in length, 1478 mm in height and 1579 mm in width.

The French automaker made car will have a wheelbase of 2422 mm and a fuel tank capacity of 28 L. The new variant will try to woo buyers of Suzuki Alto K10 and Hyundai Eon. The striking feature about the new entry is that it is by far the best looking entry level hatchback.

Also, it comes with highly demanded features like touch-screen multimedia which are quite popular among the masses.

Pricing.

Rumors are doing the round that the product will be priced below the price bracket of INR 4-5 lakh. The prices of KWID 0.8 litre falls between the bracket of 2.56 lakh-3.53 lakh.

Market Reach

From the time that KWID was launched in India last year, it has seen impressive growth in its sales. The Italian automaker claims to have 15% market share in small car segment.

The firm is also planning to start export of KWID in Sri Lanka by the end of this month. While Renault will start exporting to countries like Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh by the end of this year.
