Rolls-Royce Dawn launching in India on June 24

Rolls-Royce will be will be launching its latest offering in India beginning June 24. This will be the fourth offering by the British luxury-car maker and the second convertible after the Phantom Drop Head.

The Rolls-Royce Dawn Convertible has attracted much chatter as being very similar in its looks to the Wraith. Rolls-Royce, however, has clearly stated that the new car is a completely renewed model and not just a convertible model of the Wraith.

The Rolls-Royce Dawn Convertible comes fashioned with 80% of its body uniquely designed, sports a 2:1 wheel to height ratio with an elongated front bonnet as well as a raised shoulder line. Like any of the other cars by the luxury maker, the Dawn Convertible boasts of luxurious design. The front grille is placed much higher than the Wraith, by 45mm to be precise; whereas the front bottom bumper has also been protruded by 53mm.

The car is fashioned with an aggressive face that will make an even bigger impression while the body sports a streamlined design exuding class and appeal.

The car comes chrome bordering across the shoulder line, with projector headlamps and daytime running lights. The interiors house 2×2 seats, come with four-zone climate control and a premium audio system with 16 individually tuned speakers. The car also comes with a retractable soft-top that Rolls-Royce claims will operate noiselessly; opening up in about 20 seconds even when traveling at speeds up to 50 km/hour.

The company says that although the roof is fashioned out of fabric, the cabin will remain near to noiseless.

Under the hood, you’ll find that the Dawn Convertible is powered by a powerful 6.6-litre twin-turbocharged V12 petrol engine that provides a peak torque of 800Nm. To put it simply, you could go from 0-100 km/hour in around 4.6 seconds.

You can expect to the Rolls-Royce’s Dawn Convertible come into the Indian automotive market for a price of Rs 4.5-crores to 5-crores.
