Sachin Tendulkar joins IoT start-up Smartron India as brand ambassador

Sachin Tendulkar has officially been appointed as a brand ambassador and strategic shareholder of Smartron. Based in India, Smarton is a leading global technology company focussed on the development of a wide range of smart devices and Internet of Things (IoT) products set to reach markets in the first quarter of 2016-17.

Founded by Mahesh Lingareddy, who is also the CEO of US-based Soft Machines, Smarton, the R&D driven company is on the verge of launching a wide range of smart devices, services and care aimed to target consumer, enterprise, industrial and infrastructure markets by tapping the areas of smart, sensor, robotics, artificial intelligence, cloud and big data technologies.

“I have explored and fascinated by technology for around 20 years of my cricketing career. Smarton’s aim to build a robust product ecosystem in India is very impressive,” said Sachin, but declined to give any further information about the proposed deal with the company.

Furthermore, it’s our duty to support brands that build products in India by leveraging the potential of young minds graduating from our colleges, adds Sachin. He also revealed that his association with the upcoming growth journey of Smartron will throw open a wide range of possibilities and growth opportunities offered by IoT worldwide.

Responding to questions from media, Lingareddy said his company is excited, privileged and honoured to have Sachin onboard our journey to fulfil the ambition of the development of IoT-powered smart devices. Moreover, Sachin is not only a true global icon but also a brand that disrupted the game of Cricket and inspired young generations using his motivational skills.

Smartron has research and development centres in Hyberabad and Bengaluru with funding fuelled by investors from the US, India and West Asia.
