Samsung Galaxy Note 7 India launch reportedly set for October 7 alongside iPhone 7

Right after news broke about Galaxy Note 7 faulty batteries, Samsung called back all the units out in the market. As a result, the launch in India got delayed. The customers who pre-ordered it got a message informing them that the shipment was delayed. Now, reports suggest that it will make its way into the market on the same day as iPhone 7 official launch in India – October 7.

Keeping the latest incidents in mind, the launch date is quite a bold move. The launch is reportedly scheduled for smack-dab in the middle of the popular festive season of the country. The launch date is quite a smart pick, but considering the latest turn of events, it is debatable whether Samsung made the right decision to come so direct in competition with Apple, so soon. As far as competency is concerned, besides the fire hazard concerns, the spec-sheet of the Galaxy Note 7 is quite impressive.

India is one of the most lucrative smartphone markets in the world. Perhaps that is the reason why companies choose to introduce their smartphones in the country in their second wave of launches. This may have just given some brand image protection to the company, but the Indigo fire incident of Galaxy Note 2 did quite the damage.
