Samsung Galaxy Note 7 leaked image confirms release of next phablet flagship

The launch of the next generation Samsung Galaxy Note is around the corner, but most of us are confused about its name; whether it would be Galaxy Note 6 or Galaxy Note 7. Considering the trend that the company has been following, we should be introduced to Galaxy Note 6, but an image leak confirms that the next Samsung flagship would be called Galaxy Note 7.

An image emerged from Chinese website shows the digit ‘7’ accompanied with the tagline, ‘The Next Note’. It clearly indicates that the next flagship would be called the Galaxy Note 7. We cannot vouch for its authenticity, but there have been rumors that the new device will be ‘Galaxy Note 7’ to align with the recently released flagship Galaxy S7.

On a rather confusing note, smartphone companies are going crazy with numbering the generations of their popular phone models. Sony launched Xperia Z3 plus, followed by Xperia Z5 and then there is Asus, who started with Asus Zenfone 4, 5, 6 and then jumped back to Asus Zenfone 2, 3. And now Samsung is following the same route.

The confusion does not end here. While we ponder over the numbering of the next Note device, rumors have surfaced indicating that the next generation Galaxy Note (6/7) won’t be shipped with ‘Android N‘ on board. It will run on Android Marshmallow. The reason for this speculation is the screenshot managed by a Hungarian website NapiDroid, which shows the user-agent profile of a Samsung SM-N930A. This is apparently one of the model numbers of Galaxy 6/7.

If the screenshot is legit, then this will be disappointing for the Samsung users because Android N developer preview has been around since March. And if Samsung is going to launch the next-gen Note in August, that gives them a huge time window to test the version on the upcoming Note.

Nevertheless, Galaxy Note 6/7 will still be a beast with top-end specs. It will probably have a curved edge display like Galaxy S7 and might offer up to 6GB of RAM along with Snapdragon 823 processor.
