Samsung Galaxy S7 features, specs and release date rumors: What we know till now

Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to be released soon, and the device will be powered with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. However, there is no official confirmation from Samsung regarding the expected release date. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge will also be released in February 2016 and is expected to be equipped with flexible display and Samsung has already given orders for reputed Taiwan manufacturer.

Nowadays, high-end flagship smartphones ships with more than 2GB RAM, which causes overheating upon prolonged usage especially during gaming, due to which Samsung Galaxy S7 will ship with liquid cooling technology.

The main advantage of incorporating liquid cooling is that the manufacturer will be able to infuse advanced processor and memory into the tiny smartphone. We hope that the new cooling mechanism will be incorporated in Galaxy S7 Edge and will be priced higher than Galaxy S7.

Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to ship with an enhanced camera, a microSD card slot in addition to a toughened display glass. The overall weight of Samsung Galaxy S7 will be comparatively less than the previous counterparts.

Liquid cooling is feasible in smartphones since the same technology has been implemented in Sony Xperia Z5 and the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL. However, it will be a big challenge for Samsung to find a way to incorporate the mechanism without compromising the build of the product.

Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to incorporate better battery life, virtual reality support including fingerprint magnet. We also expect better placement of speakers probably in the top panel where there will be less blockages.

The device is expected to make extensive use of glass, but there are doubts regarding the provision of much demanded user-replaceable battery and a microSD card.

Dong Jin Koh, former Head of Mobile Research will take over the management and marketing of smartphone business. Moreover, Koh is all set to be involved with the design of S7 series and unlikely to reveal details of what is happening under the hood.
