Within days after the official release of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 in the US, fresh rumors have emerged about the impending release of the flagship Samsung Galaxy S8 code-named Dream. The upcoming Samsung launch event will probably showcase the flagship offering of the rumored Galaxy S8.
According to industry analysts, people have to wait few more months for the release of the Samsung’s next flagship smartphone. This is because rumors suggest that Samsung has already scheduled a product launch event during the Mobile World Congress starting on February 27, 2017. However, there is no confirmation as to whether the product to be launched is Galaxy S8.
If there is no abnormal change in the product release timeline of Samsung, you can probably expect to see the release of Galaxy S8 during MWC 2017. The new device will be able to get extra focus among tech enthusiasts and media if Samsung manages to release it on the floor of MWC.
Samsung Galaxy S8 specifications
Likely to be codenamed as Project Dream or Dream Works, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will feature a 4K display, 6GB RAM, dual cameras, and bigger battery. Moreover, the device will be equipped with a new processor with a 10nm manufacturing process.
If rumors are to be believed, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 will be integrated with battery-saving features capable of reducing battery life. This will help the device to offset the energy cost due to the 4K display.
Samsung Galaxy S8: Android 7.0 Nougat
While few sources mention that the Galaxy S8 will likely feature Android 7.0 Nougat, we can confirm that the new handset will be loaded with the new Android platform.
Going by the latest trend, we can expect the release of Nougat before the end of August. Hence, the devices released after October 2016 will ship with the new Android 7.0 Nougat.
According to sources, Samsung is slated to release foldable smartphones under the codename Project Valley.
Android 7.0 Nougat Features
Google is expected to release Android 7.0 before the end of August. Earlier, there were rumors about the possible release on August 5 after Evan Blass tweeted about it.
Talking about the new features, the Android 7.0 Nougat will be equipped with a new Google Camera 4.1 with VR mode, enhanced multi-language support in addition to deletion of few themes and shortcuts. Moreover, you can also expect new features such as sustained performance mode, split screen multi-window, and redesigned notification panel.
The new performance mode is capable of improving the battery life to a great extent. As a developer, you will be able to manage system resources effectively. It will also enhance the loading time of apps.
The split-screen capability enables you to run multiple applications without leaving the first program. Furthermore, the notification panel also enables you to view and work with notifications.
