Sony has launched its latest wearable devices, the SmartWatch 3 and SmartBand Talk in the Indian market. The devices come under Sony’s SmartWear Experience series, and both support Life log app. While the SmartWatch 3 will cost the customers Rs. 19,990, the SmartBand can be purchased at a price of Rs. 12,990.
Sony’s SmartWatch 3 runs on the Android Platform and will enable users to perform some basic functions of a wearable gear. The device will allow users to receive messages from contacts, check weather updates, and also refer to appointment notifications.
These features can be seen at one glance on the screen of the device, Sony said. In addition to these, the SmartWatch 3 also supports a built-in microphone and some sensors. The sensor technology aims at providing users accurate and powerful life logging capabilities, and includes an accelerometer, GPS sensor, Gyro and Compass.
The SmartWatch 3 comes with a 1.6 inches screen with 320X320 pixels TFT LCD Transreflective display. The company claims that the display will provide excellent visibility even in sunlight. The gear, with a stainless steel back, is water-resistant and is rated IP68. It has a built-in local memory of 4GB and deploys a Bluetooth headset for listening. The device can be charged with a microUSB port.
Sony’s other device, the SmartTalk Band, features a built-in microphone and speaker, with a special short call function that would allow users to talk. The device is fitted with Sony’s integrated Voice Control technology along with HD Voice support. These features are incorporated to enable the users to assign their own sounds and voices to life bookmarks and execute certain smartphone functions.
Looks-wise, the SmartTalk Band supports a curved E-ink display of 1.4 inches. The display is capable of monitoring Life log activity, time, and notifications. It also has built-in sensors like the accelerometer and altimeter to monitor physical activities. Both the devices can be connected to Android-based smartphones.
