Sony Xperia Z3+ Price, Review, and Features

Although Sony gave Mobile World Congress a miss in terms of a big launch, the company is back with its latest flagship smartphone.

The Xperia Z3+, priced at Rs. 55,990. The smartphone is available 3 color variants – Aqua Green, Black Copper and White.

The new entrant replaces the incumbent Z3 as the flagship phone from the Japanese company.

It boasts somewhat similar design and almost the same chasis as Xperia Z3 and use of similar materials. However, it has some impressive internals.

There’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC which runs on a 64-bit octa-core (quad-core 1.5GHz + quad-core 2.0 GHz) coupled with 3GB of RAM.

Also, though Sony has reduced the battery capacity of Xperia Z3+ compared to Xperia Z3 (2,930mAh vs 3,100mAh), the new phone claims to offer up to two days of battery life.

The phone also supports quick charge feature which lets you charge the phone completely in 45 mins using Sony charger.

The whole assembly of internals is enclosed in an aluminium frame.

There’s a metallic frame on the sides acting as shock-resistant caps around the  edges complemented by Corning Gorila Glass 3 protection on the front and rear sides.

Xperia Z3+ is slightly thinner and lighter than its predecessor. (6.9mm vs 7.3mm) and lighter (144grams vs 152grams). Towards the right-hand side of the phone, you find the power/standby button followed by the volume rocker button and at the base you have the dedicated camera shutter button.

Sony Xperia Z3+ sports the same 20.7MP rear camera that’s visible in the Xperia Z3.

However, the phone has a 25mm wide-angle 5.1MP front camera for capturing better photos or pics as selfies, compared to the 2.2MP front camera of Xperia Z3.

The fact that the new smartphone doesn’t sport a anything new or out of the box and retains the same design go against it, especially when other flagships are offering better features and enhanced functionalities at lower price range.
