Micromax Canvas 6 Pro pre-orders to ship on April 20 for Rs. 13999

Micromax announced the availability of two of their newest smartphones last week, the Canvas 6 and Canvas 6 Pro. Both handsets will retail for a price of Rs. 13,999, with only the Canvas 6 Pro available to pre-order. There has been no word on the release date of the Canvas 6 so far.

Deliveries for pre-ordered phones will commence on the 20th of April and should reach customers within the same week. Micromax offers the Canvas 6 Pro on pre-order through their official store at a booking price of Rs. 1,000.

The Micromax Canvas 6 Pro is fashioned out of a plastic uni-body and has a rubberized texture at the rear for enhanced grip. Its counterpart, the Canvas 6, on the other hand, is made out of a metal-uni-body. The phone comes along with a 5.5-inch Full-HD display screen, runs on an octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 chipset that clocks at 2.0GHz. The device is supported by a 4GB RAM and offers 16GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 64GB with the help of a micro-SD card.

The back of the Canvas 6 Pro sports a 13MP camera with an LED flash as well as predictive auto-focus. The front has a 5MP lens that helps take selfies. You will have support for 4G networks as well as dual-SIM capabilities along with other connectivity options such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Huawei Y3 II and Y5 II budget smartphones now available officially

Huawei has introduced two new Y-series smartphones, the Y3 II and Y5 II in Rose Pink, Sky Blue, Arctic White, Obsidian Black, and Sand Gold colors. Even though they are listed on the official site, there is no confirmation about its price and availability of both the handsets. The Y3 and Y5 II models are available in two variants – 3G and 4G.

While Huawei Y3 II is equipped with a 4.5-inch FWVGA (480 x 854 pixels) display, the Huawei Y5 II features a 5-inch HD display. On the specifications front, the Huawei Y3 II 3G model is powered by 1.0GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582M SoC while the Huawei Y3 II 4G variant packs a 1.0GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735M SoC.

In the same way, the Huawei Y5 II 3G model comes with a slightly higher 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 SoC paired with Mali-T720 GPU while the Huawei Y5 II 4G model packs a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735P SoC with the same graphics.

Both Huawei Y3 II and Huawei Y5 II smartphones are equipped with 1GB RAM, 8GB of expandable storage loaded with Android 5.1 Lollipop on top of Emotion UI 3.1. However, Huawei Y3 II features a 5MP main camera coupled with a 2MP front-facing shooter supplemented by a 2,100mAh battery.

The Huawei Y5 II, meanwhile, offers an 8MP main camera with LED flash paired with a 2MP fixed focus front-facing camera with LED flash, which is the main attraction of the handset. A 2,200mAh battery completes the package.

On the connectivity segment, the light-weight Huawei Y3 II, and Huawei Y5 II handsets features WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth 4, A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, and Micro-USB. Expected to be priced below $200, both Huawei Y3 II, and Huawei Y5 II will be available by the end of Q2 2016.

Touted to target motorcycle riders, Samsung Galaxy J3 features a unique Sbike mode to provide a distraction-free riding experience and is regarded as the first device in the world to incorporate advanced features, which will be useful for auto enthusiasts.

By changing the setting of the phone to Do Not Disturb mode, you will not be able to receive any notifications unless there is an important call. Moreover, an automated message will be delivered to the person who makes the call with the message that the user is currently riding.

Micromax Canvas Juice 4 with 3000mAh battery goes official, to be launched soon

Micromax has introduced its 4th member, Canvas Juice 4 in the battery-focused Canvas Juice series. The smartphone is listed on the company’s official website with no words on the availability and pricing details. Micromax Canvas Juice 4 is the successor to Canvas Juice 3+ and Canvas Juice 3, which were launched last year.

Coming to the specifications and features of Micromax Canvas Juice 4, the smartphone boasts a 5-inch FWVGA IPS display with screen resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. Powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core SC7731 processor paired with 1GB of RAM, the handset offers 8GB of internal storage, which is further expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card slot.

The Canvas Juice 4 sports with a 5MP AF rear camera with LED flash support in addition to a 2MP front-facing camera. Out-of-the-box, the handset runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system.

Micromax Canvas Juice 4 comes pre-loaded with 10 regional languages and First Touch menu.

On the connectivity front, the dual-SIM Micromax Canvas Juice 4 comes with 3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, GPS, Micro-USB 2.0 and a 3.5mm headset jack. Whereas, sensor option includes proximity sensors, ambient light sensor, magnetometer and accelerometer.

It is surprising how the phone doesn’t support 4G LTE as the company previously had plans for revamping the existing portfolio of smartphones with 4G compatible devices.

A 3000mAh battery fuels the smartphone, which company claims to deliver 385 hours of Standby time and 11 hours of Talktime.

On the contrast, the Canvas Juice 4 may have to face a tough competition from the battery centric smartphones Gionee Marathon and Xiaomi Redmi 3, which includes a massive 4000mAh battery.

The Micromax Canvas Juice 4 isn’t official yet; the official website listing does specify that it will be launched soon. As of now, the pricing of the smartphone is still unknown, and we expect it to be priced under Rs. 8,000.

Vivo Y51L 4G smartphone with 2GB RAM, 5″ display launched for Rs. 11,980

With a plan to capture the growing affordable smartphone market in India, Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Vivo has unveiled its new smartphone, Vivo Y51L with OTG and 4G LTE support with a price tag of Rs. 11,890. Y51L is the company’s first smartphone of 2016, which will ve assembled in the Greater Noida manufacturing plant.

Speaking at the launch event, Vivo India CEO – Mr. Alex Feng said that last year the company witnessed a lot of positive demand and huge sales for its budget-range products, and this boosted them to launch Vivo Y51L. They believe that with this new launch, their hold on the market would surely be strengthened.

Equipped with a 5-inch IPS display with screen resolution of 540 x 960 pixels, Vivo Y51L is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor paired with 2GB of RAM. The handset offers 16Gb of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card.

Talking about the camera, Y51L sports an 8-megapixel rear camera along with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling. Supporting Full HD video recording at 1080p, the phone boasts of additional features like Face Beauty mode, Panorama, HDR and Night mode.

The smartphone runs on Funtouch 2.5 OS, which is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system. A 2,350mAh Li-polymer battery fuels the smartphone.

Vivo Y51L

Connectivity-wise, the dual-SIM Vivo Y51L comes with 4G LTE support, standard W-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB-OTG, Micro-USB 2.0 and a 3.5mm headset jack.

Last year, Vivo introduced its Y series by launching various major models including Y27L, Y31 and Y15S priced from Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 13,000. With Y51L, this year Vivo expects to grow its market share reasonably in India.

ASUS ZenFone Zoom world’s thinnest 3X optical-zoom smartphone launched, price starts at Rs. 37,999

ASUS has launched its latest smartphone, ZenFone Zoom, in India at an event held in the city of the Taj Mahal, Agra. Company claims ZenFone Zoom is world’s thinnest 3X optical-zoom smartphone. Priced at Rs. 37,999, ASUS ZenFone Zoom will be available in two color options i.e. Pure Leather Back in Black and Ceramic White in the market from 22nd January, 2016 on Flipkart and will hit ASUS Exclusive Stores from February.

Powered by a 2.5GHz Quad-core Intel Atom Z3590 processor paired with 4GB of RAM, the handset comes in two storage variants – 64GB and 128GB, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via a microSD card.

ASUS ZenFone Zoom

ASUS ZenFone Zoom is armed with a 13MP rear camera with 10-element Hoya lens, Laser Autofocus, OIS, 12X magnification and 3X optical-zoom. It is also equipped with a 5MP front-facing camera for selfie lovers. The handset runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system with ASUS ZenUI on top.

Connectivity-wise, ASUS ZenFone Zoom comes with 4G LTE, standard Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS/A-GPS, 3.5mm headset jack and a Micro USB 2.0 port. A 3,000mAh Li-ion battery fuels the phone. The phone comes with ASUS BoostMaster technology that charges the battery from 0 to 60% in just 39 minutes.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Dual launched for Rs. 51,400: Specs, Availability and Price in India

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Dual SIM is launched in three color variants starting at Rs. 51,400. Available in 32GB and 64GB internal storage capacities, Note 5 is listed for sale on official Samsung e-store. However, the 64GB model is expected to roll out soon with a price tag of Rs. 57,400.

In September 2015, Samsung had launched Galaxy Note 5 at Rs. 53,900 for the 32GB variant. On the other hand, the 64GB model was priced at Rs. 59,900.

With the recent launch of Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Dual (SM-N9208), the company has slashed the prices of the single-SIM models to Rs. 47.900 for the 32GB and Rs. 53,900 for the 64GB.

Powered by a 64-bit Octa-core Exynos 7420 SoC processor coupled with a Mali-T760MP8 Graphics card, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Dual SIM features a 5.7-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) AMOLED display with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM.

Gionee Marathon M5 Lite has been launched with a 5-inch display and a 4,000mAh battery in Golden Brown color with a price tag of Rs. 12,999 in the market. The handset, designed using an aviation-grade aluminium alloy, is available for purchase from the official online store of the company.

According to company sources, the Gionee Marathon M5 Lite will have the capability to deliver up to 40 hours of Talktime, 68 hours of music playback and approximately 40 hours of Standby time. It is also possible to use the device without charging for a maximum of three days.

Gionee has manufactured Marathon M5 Lite in such a way to use the device as a power bank as well using OTG, which enables you to charge your other smartphones and tablets.

Gionee Marathon M5 Lite comes with a 5-inch HD IPS Asahi Dragon trial Glass protected display with a pixel density of 293 PPI, 64-bit 1.3GHz Quad-core MediaTek MT6735 SoC, Mali-T720 GPU, 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

Gionee Marathon M5 Lite measures only 8.5mm in thickness and weighs 183 grams.

Gionee Marathon M5 Lite will most likely have to face competition with the recently released ASUS Zenfone Max, which has 5,000mAh battery priced at Rs. 9,999. Lenovo K4 Note is also a possible competitor for M5 Lite with CoolPad Note 3 also in the race.

Lenovo A7000 Turbo with FHD display and 4G support launched for Rs. 10,999

Lenovo officially launched A7000 Turbo in India with a 5.5-inch IPS FHD display and 4G. The handset will be available from Lenovo’s official store in black color at Rs 10,999, starting from January 13, 2016.

Lenovo A7000 Turbo includes Gorilla Glass 3 protected display with a pixel density of 401ppi. The display resolution of 1920×1080 pixels enables the device to render crisp images and videos with an increased area for browsing and reading ebooks.

The device also features a 2900mAh Li-Ion battery that has the capability to provide talk time backup of up to 40 hours on 2G and 16 hours on 35.

Lenovo claims that the device offers 11 days of standby time. We expect that the smartphone of this range should be packed with Li-Po battery for enhanced performance.

Talking about general specifications, the Lenovo A7000 Turbo features 64-bit MediaTek MT6752 octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, USG OTG and sensors. The internal storage can be expanded up to 32GB.

The handset is powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop integrated with Vibe UI 2.0 and Dolby Atmos speaker. We expect Lenovo to provide Android Marshmallow update by the end of Q1 2016.

The primary camera of Lenovo A7000 Turbo packs a 13MP dual-LED flash OmniVision OV13850 with five lens element. Lenovo has included a different variant of Omnivision lens with 5MP capacity in the front-facing camera department.

Lenovo claims that the integrated Dolby speaker provides an incredible 360-degree sound experience not available in other competing smartphones. Lenovo A7000 Turbo will compete with the recently launched Asus ZenFone Max, Redmi Note Prime and CoolPad Note 3.

The handset provides support for both FDD-LTE 1800MHz Band 3 and TDD-LTE 2300MHz Band 40 bands. Lenovo has designed A7000 Turbo similar to that of K3 Note, which the company released seven months back. Interestingly, Lenovo K4 Note was launched last week exclusively via Amazon at Rs. 11,999.

Commenting on the launch, CEO at Videocon Mobile Phones – Mr. Jerold Pereira said that the newly launched Z55 Krypton is a cost-effective smart device for those who want to upgrade to a faster smartphone with 4G connectivity, extended memory and a good camera.

Intex Aqua GenX with Full-HD display, Android 5.1 Lollipop launched for Rs. 13,299

The Indian smartphone manufacturer, Intex Technologies has showcased its latest premium smartphone, Intex Aqua Gen X at an event in New Delhi. Priced at Rs. 13,299, the handset is likely to be launched somewhere near next week in the Indian market.

Equipped with a metallic unibody, a 5.5-inch FHD IPS display with screen resolution of 1920 x 1280 pixels and Dragon Trail H7 display protection, the Intext Aqua GenX is powered by a 64-bit 1.3GHz Octa-core cortex A53 processor paired with 2GB DDR3 RAM.

The Aqua GenX offers 16GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card. Out-of-the-box the smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. Still, there’s no any clue from company’s side regarding Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.

The Intex Aqua GenX sports a 13MP rear camera with Autofocus and LED flash support and a 5MP front-facing camera. The rear snapper is capable of recording slow motion video recording. A 2,850 mAh Li-Po battery powers the handset, which company claims to deliver 11 hours of Talktime on 3G and 392 hours of Standby Time on 3G.

Connectivity-wise, the dual-SIM Intex Aqua GenX comes with 4G support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, Portable Hotspot, Micro-USB 2.0 and a 3.5mm headset jack.

The Intex Aqua GenX allows the user to communicate in 21 regional languages including Hindi through its Matrabhasha service. The handset is available in two color options: Champagne and Silver.

According to the Mobile Business Head, Intex Technologies, Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, with the introduction of Intex Aqua GenX, the company aims to give the consumers and the mobile industry a first class experience of feature-loaded mobile at a considerably low price so that everyone can use it.

Elephone S1 3G smartphone with Android Lollipop to be launched for just $70

After the moderately successful S2 and S2 Plus smartphone, Elephone is all set to launch their new 3G smartphone with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system in their S series, the Elephone S1 and S1 Plus with a price tag of $70.

The Elephone S1 and S1 Plus will have a 5-inch and 5.5-inch HD display with screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels respectively. The display will be further protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.

Aiming for a premium style at a budget price, Elephone S1 will feature a metal chassis and will be powered by a Quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 MT6580 chipset.

Lenovo has started rolling out the much-awaited Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA update to Lenovo A6000 and Lenovo A6000 Plus handsets. Both the devices are compatible with 4G and features nearly similar hardware specifications.

Lenovo received a fairly good response from Indian consumers in terms of Lenovo A6000 and Lenovo A6000 Plus sales.

The company has come out as a substantial 4G smartphones brand with 29.4 percent market share, recent IDC’s report states.

Lenovo A6000 sports a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS capacitive display with 294 ppi pixel density. The device is powered by a 1.2GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 CPU and 1GB RAM.

Lenovo A6000 offers an 8MP autofocus camera and 2MP front-facing camera. It has an internal storage of 8GB, which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD. It offers 2300mAh Li-Po battery.
