Vu, the California-based luxury television company has launched a wide range of new Television models from 40-inches to 65-inches starting at Rs. 25,000. Originally announced and showcased at the CES 2016 in Las Vegas, Vu brings to India seven new smart TV models in association with Flipkart.
Taking over as the brand ambassador of Vu Televisions, Devita Saraf, who is also the CEO of the brand in India, said that building trust among consumers will be her utmost priority. Moreover, Saraf is also scheduled to open a new platform for the consumers to interact with the company product team.
Saraf disclosed that partnership with Flipkart enabled the company to optimize the e-commerce platform and also to tap into the vast majority of online shoppers in India.
She revealed that Flipkart has provided an immense boost to the distribution and fulfilment of Vu TVs in addition to efficient customer service. Vu is hopeful and confident of increasing the sales for the newly launched premium models, adds Saraf.
While the Play Smart model is priced at Rs. 20,000, the Iconium Smart variants are priced starting from Rs. 37,000. Equipped with an inbuilt app and a dedicated Netflix and YouTube button on the remote, the four Smart 4K models under the Iconium series are Netflix enabled. Interestingly, Netflix was launched in India recently.
Starting from 40-inches at Rs. 40,000, the 4K Ultra HD Iconium series also consist of four new variants in 43, 50, 55 and 65-inches respectively. Priced at Rs. 1,20,000, the 65-inch model, in addition to other models, features high definition Ultra HD, digital dBX, smart features and social media connectivity.
Meanwhile, Amit Bansal who heads the business unit of Flipkart disclosed that the latest range of Vu models will further strengthen the partnership. Moreover, Bansal stated that Flipkart will be working to increase the market share to 10% through better deals and the frequent app only sales.
Starting from 32-inches and ending at 48-inch, the Vu Play Series models features ripple-free picture quality with the help of revolutionary ADS panel technology and Android 4.4 OS in addition to social connectivity and web browsing capability.

With Netflix, YouTube, Gesture gaming integrations, Vu witnessed CAGR of 170% with 2,00,000 TVs sold in 2015. The company is projecting to double the sales volume with an increase of 4,00,000 TVs by the end of 2016, by establishing tie-ups with offline retailers across India.
Apart from enhancing product quality, Vu is scheduled to introduce support and service via Whatsapp, Smart TV hotline and expert chat.
