Xiaomi Mi4 and Mi Note will be the first batch of smartphones which will get the most recent of Android 6.0 Marshmallow on the top of MIUI7 version.
GizmoChina reports that the upgrade will be rolled out in the next few weeks with the MIUI operations manager confirming the development with a post on social networking platform Weibo.
Xiaomi Mi4 and Mi 4i are expected to include a refreshed MIUI 7 custom overlay with Android 6.0 Marshmallow in addition to several new themes and performance optimizations.
The update will have an auto do not disturb feature that works in tandem with Xiaomi’s Mi Band fitness tracker. The unique data saver module enables you to reduce the amount of data used by several social media applications.
Moreover, Mi4 will have 16GB of storage space and will be priced lower compared to previous versions.
The specifications of the much-awaited Mi Pad 2 were leaked recently, and it will include an ability to switch between Windows 10 and Android. Mi Pad 2 is expected to ship with a big display that could be either 9.7 or 10.1 inches.
The device will be powered by an Intel 14nm processor that generates less heat. Mi Pad 2 will boast a resolution of 2560 by 1440 with 3GB of RAM, 13 MP primary camera and a metal design. Rumours are floating on the web that the device will have 4GB variant as well.
You can also expect the release of Redmi Note 3 and a much longer update after the release of Redmi Note 2 which got rave reviews.
Note 3 is expected to have a Micro SIM slot compared to Mini SIM in Note 2. Hence, you need not have to use any converters to work with the phone.
Xiaomi is expected to provide the latest build of Windows 10 as a dual boot to selected Mi4 users starting from December 3. We are not sure how stable the release of Windows 10 will be.
You can expect a closed beta release if you are a Xiaomi power user so that you will be able to test the various features before it is rolled out to the general public.
