Dubbed to be oriented for the budget segment, Xiaomi Redmi 3S smartphone will be an entry-level addition to the Redmi series. Recently, the company launched Redmi Pro in China.

Even though Redmi 3S is available in China, it took several months for the company to bring the handset to India. As per the reports coming in, the new Redmi 3S will be priced below Rs. 10000.

Xiaomi Redmi 3S Specifications

On the specifications front, the Xiaomi Redmi 3S features a 5-inch HD display, Snapdragon 430 processor, 13MP rear camera paired with a 5MP front-facing snapper.

Manufactured using all-metal unibody, the Redmi 3S features MIUI 7 on top of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. However, you will be eligible for an upgrade to MIUI 8, which will be available during the middle of August. There are reports that the smartphone will also ship with Android Lollipop.

Xiaomi is expected to bring two variants of Redmi 3S. The basic model features 2GB RAM paired with 16GB of internal storage. The premium variant, also called as Redmi 3S Pro will be equipped with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

With an expected thickness of 8.50mm, the Redmi 3S will be powered by a massive 4100mAh fast charging battery. Moreover, the addition of a fingerprint sensor is an advantage because you will never find a fingerprint feature in a budget handset.

According to industry analysts, the Redmi 3S will be path-breaking and attract customers towards the device. The integration of a fast charging battery is also considered as important.

Xiaomi Redmi 3S: Price and Availability

Xiaomi Redmi 3S will be priced at Rs. 7,000, which is the same as the existing Redmi 2. Xiaomi will most likely stick to the price of the device in China. However, you will have to pay around Rs. 9,000 for the Pro variant with 3GB RAM. The handset will be rolled out in silver, grey, and golden color variants.

Based on the rumored specifications, the Redmi 3S will be a key product for the company. Xiaomi expects to sell the handset well in emerging markets like India because of the fingerprint sensor and fast charging technology.

Xiaomi upcoming products

In addition to Redmi 3S, Xiaomi will also launch 4GB variant of Mi Max with 128GB internal storage in India. You can also expect the official launch of Xiaomi Redmi Pro in India.

Xiaomi has been placed on the list of top 10 smartphone manufacturers worldwide. However, unlike other competitors like Vivo, the Chinese company hasn’t been able to improve the total number of shipments to India. With Vivo crossing one million shipments, Xiaomi is working hard to beat them.

Talking about the software segment, Xiaomi is expected to launch the stable version of MIUI 8 on August 15. The company will also launch a VR headset based on Daydream technology in August alongside several new smartphones.
