BSNL Introduces Enhanced Security and New Services, Unveils Refreshed Logo in Preparation for 4G Rollout
BSNL is preparing for its commercial 4G launch with a new logo and a suite of innovative services. Enhancements include spam protection, Wi-Fi roaming, and an encrypted communication platform for emergency situations.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has revealed a new logo and launched a suite of new services, including a spam protection feature, in anticipation of its upcoming commercial 4G launch. The state-owned telecommunications company aims to enhance user experience and expand its offerings with these additions.

New Logo Symbolizes Trust and Reliability

The new logo, introduced at an event at BSNL headquarters in New Delhi, reflects the company’s commitment to providing secure, affordable, and reliable services. The event was attended by Jyotiraditya Scindia (Union Minister of Communications), Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani (Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications), and Neeraj Mittal (Secretary, Department of Telecommunications).

Spam Protection and Enhanced Security Measures

One of the key highlights of the new services is the spam protection measure. BSNL claims this feature can automatically filter out malicious SMS and phishing attempts without disturbing the consumer.

Expanding Service Offerings

In addition to security enhancements, BSNL is introducing a Wi-Fi roaming service for its fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) customers. This service will allow users to access high-speed internet at BSNL hotspots, reducing data costs. Furthermore, BSNL is expanding its TV services with a fibre-based intranet TV service, offering over 500 live channels and a Pay TV facility. The company assures users that data consumed for TV streaming will not be deducted from their FTTH data allowance.

Simplified Connectivity and Accessibility

BSNL is also simplifying the process of obtaining new connections or upgrading existing ones through the introduction of Any Time SIM (ATM) kiosks. These kiosks will enable users to purchase, replace, upgrade, or port their SIM cards at any time, with the convenience of QR-enabled UPI payments and multi-lingual support.

Innovative Solutions for Connectivity

Further expanding its services, BSNL is launching a D2D service that converges satellite and terrestrial mobile networks. This service is expected to be particularly useful in emergencies and isolated regions, enabling services like UPI payments even in areas with limited connectivity. BSNL is also rolling out an encrypted communications platform for government and relief agencies, which can be utilized in times of crisis. This platform will leverage balloon-based and drone-based systems to extend coverage in disaster-affected areas.
