Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Modern Warfare III, and Warzone on Xbox Cloud Gaming

Microsoft recently announced the addition of three Call of Duty games to Xbox Cloud Gaming starting October 25, 2024. This marks the first time the franchise will be available on the cloud gaming service since Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard.

Expanding Access to Popular Games

The three titles coming to Xbox Cloud Gaming are Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, and Call of Duty: Warzone. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members will be able to play these games on a variety of devices, including gaming PCs, consoles, mobile devices, Samsung TVs, Amazon Fire TV, and Meta Quest devices.

A Milestone for Cloud Gaming

Ashley McKissick, corporate vice president of gaming experiences & platforms at Xbox, highlighted the significance of this move, stating that it “opens up even more ways to play Black Ops 6 starting on day one at launch.” This aligns with Microsoft’s broader strategy to expand the reach of cloud gaming and make popular titles more accessible.

Future Plans for Xbox Cloud Gaming

Microsoft plans to continue adding Activision and Blizzard games to Game Pass with Xbox Cloud Gaming. Additionally, the company is reportedly testing a feature that would allow users to stream games they own outside of the Xbox Game Pass library. This feature is expected to enter testing with Xbox Insiders in November.
