Due to the increasing stress among teenagers and rising cases of suicides, CBSE changed the pattern from conventional exams to a 9-point grading system.
This new system is called Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation or CCE. Under this system, two types are tests are conducted – formative and summative. While the formative tests are in the hands of teachers and are graded on the basis of student’s classwork, homework, oral tests etc. The summative tests are partially formulated by CBSE, but conducted by schools themselves.
