On Thursday, the official website of JEE Main 2016 and Central Board of Secondary Education announced the Joint Entrance Examinations Main (JEE Main) rank list. Out of the top 1000 positions, 853 were secured by boys and 147 by girls.
The JEE Main examinations were held on May 3 for all the offline students and on May 9-10 for all the online students at 124 cities across the country. All the eligible students will be given an option of institutes like National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information and Technology (IITs) and Government-Funded Technical Institutions.
Over 11 lakh aspirants appeared for the JEE Main Exam out of which only 1,54,032 candidates qualified for the JEE Advanced.
Here are the following steps to check your result online:
- All the students who have appeared for the exam need to click on the website
- Once the site is opened, enter the required details like roll number and date of birth correctly
- Click on the submit button
- The result will appear on the screen
It is advisable for students to download the copy or take a print out of the same.
From June 24 onwards, the joint counseling for approximately 35,000 will begin for the courses in the top premier engineering colleges. Also, the All India Ranks (AIR) will be based on two important scores. The candidates AIR rank will carry 60% weight of the JEE test score and 40% from class 12 marks.
Amit Ahuja, an academic counselor with Kota Allen Career Institutes, said that all students are eligible to participate in the joint counseling session.
