Maruti Suzuki Takes Precautionary Measure with Alto K10 Recall

Maruti Suzuki has announced a voluntary recall of 2,555 units of its popular Maruti Alto K10 hatchback due to a potential issue with the steering gearbox assembly. The company has not specified the production dates of the affected vehicles but assures that authorized dealerships will contact owners to schedule inspections.

Potential Steering Issue Prompts Recall

The recall was initiated due to a possible defect in the steering gearbox assembly that could, in rare cases, affect the car’s steerability. To prioritize customer safety, Maruti Suzuki advises owners of the affected units to refrain from driving their vehicles until the inspection and potential replacement have been completed.

Free Inspection and Replacement at Dealerships

Owners of the affected Maruti Alto K10 units can visit their nearest Maruti Suzuki service center for a complimentary inspection. If the steering gearbox assembly is found to be faulty, the part will be replaced free of cost.

Alto K10: A Popular Choice with Modern Features

The Maruti Alto K10 is a popular choice among budget-conscious buyers in India, offering a range of modern features such as a 7-inch touchscreen, semi-digital instrument cluster, steering-mounted controls, front power windows, and keyless entry. It also comes equipped with safety features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors.

Competitive Pricing and Rivals

With prices starting from Rs 3.99 lakh and going up to Rs 5.96 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Maruti Alto K10 competes with the Renault Kwid and serves as an alternative to the Maruti S-Presso.

Maruti Suzuki’s proactive approach in addressing the potential steering issue in the Alto K10 demonstrates its commitment to customer safety. The company’s voluntary recall and free replacement of faulty parts underscore its dedication to maintaining customer trust and ensuring a safe driving experience for all Alto K10 owners.
