Motorola Razr 50 Launching in India on September 9th
Motorola's Razr 50 foldable smartphone, launching in India on September 9th, features a largest-in-class 3.6-inch external display, MediaTek Dimensity 7300X, and a focus on durability.

Motorola has officially announced the launch date for its latest foldable smartphone, the Razr 50, in India. Tech enthusiasts and smartphone aficionados can mark their calendars for September 9th, when the device will be unveiled and subsequently available for purchase through popular online platforms like Amazon.in and motorola.com, as well as select brick-and-mortar stores across the country.

A standout feature of the Razr 50 is its expansive 3.6-inch external display. Motorola proudly claims this to be the largest in its class, offering users a generous canvas for interactions and information even when the phone is folded. This outer screen is further enhanced with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection, ensuring durability against scratches and accidental drops. It boasts a Full HD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals, and an impressive peak brightness of up to 1700 nits, making it easily viewable even in bright sunlight.

Motorola has clearly prioritized longevity with the Razr 50. The company emphasizes its IPX8 water resistance rating, safeguarding the device from accidental spills and splashes. Additionally, the hinge mechanism has been rigorously tested and certified for an impressive 400,000 folds, suggesting the phone is built to last through years of regular use. To further enhance its appeal, the Razr 50 sports a vegan leather finish, adding a touch of luxury and providing a comfortable grip.

Under the hood, the Razr 50 is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300X chipset. This marks a departure from the Snapdragon processors typically found in Motorola’s foldable devices, signaling a potential shift in the company’s hardware strategy. When unfolded, users are greeted by a spacious 6.9-inch internal foldable pOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, promising a fluid and immersive viewing experience.

The Razr 50 is also packed with other noteworthy features. It houses a substantial 4200mAh battery to keep users powered throughout the day and supports both 30W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging for added convenience. Additionally, the device will offer direct access to Google’s Gemini AI assistant from the external display, enabling users to quickly get information and perform tasks without unfolding the phone.

While Motorola has yet to disclose detailed specifications and pricing for the Razr 50, the company has positioned it as a more affordable alternative to the Razr 40 Ultra, which was launched in India in July. This strategic move suggests Motorola’s intention to make foldable technology more accessible to a wider range of consumers.

As the September 9th launch date approaches, anticipation for the Razr 50 continues to build. With its impressive external display, robust build quality, and powerful performance, the Razr 50 has the potential to be a game-changer in the foldable smartphone market. All eyes will be on Motorola as it unveils this exciting new device and reveals its full capabilities.
