Reliance Jio has started a program by which the company will deliver SIM cards directly to the homes of the respective customers. The program is currently in beta or testing phase in Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Kolkata, Chennai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad.
As part of the program, the Reliance Jio SIM cards will be delivered to customers directly without any need for them to visit the Reliance stores and standing in long queues. According to Reliance, the home delivery service will be rolled out in a phased manner across India.
Reliance Jio to start home delivery for apartments
Reliance Jio is also offering free home delivery of SIM cards for apartments and housing societies. The appropriate housing society in-charge should register on the official Jio website. After that, the SIM cards will be delivered to their premises. This arrangement will be useful for housing complexes where a large number of people can buy SIM cards under a single umbrella.
Reliance Jio home delivery will be extended to other cities
In a statement, Reliance confirmed that the home delivery service will be expanded to other cities in a phased manner. As a customer, you should schedule a SIM delivery through an invite. You need to place a request for the home delivery after the receipt of an invite.
Commenting on the development, a Reliance official informed HuffPost India that this is a new way to reach out to the consumers who don’t have a Jio SIM. We will be approaching more savvy customers at first for this program. The company is working on making the delivery efficient and super-fast as well.
Reliance Jio is trying to grab the attention of customers by introducing a wide range of initiatives. The company is gearing up to manufacture budget 4G VoLTE smartphones priced under Rs. 1500.
Moreover, there are reports that the company is planning to extend the Jio Welcome Offer for existing customers until March 2017 because of decline in customers due to on-going demonetisation.
