Royal Enfield Scram 440 Debuts at Rs 2.08 Lakh with Exciting Upgrades

Royal Enfield has unveiled the Scram 440, a remarkable addition to their adventure motorcycle lineup, priced at Rs 2.08 lakh, ex-showroom Chennai. This 2025 model, available in two variants—Trail and Force, succeeds the Scram 411. With a more potent engine and a suite of enhancements, the Scram 440 aims to redefine the riding experience. Here’s a detailed look at what makes the Scram 440 a noteworthy contender in its category.

Enhanced Performance

The heart of the Scram 440 is its upgraded Long Stroke 443cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, which produces 25.4 bhp at 6,250 rpm and 34 Nm of torque at 3,400 rpm. This represents a 4.5 percent increase in power and a 6.5 percent rise in torque compared to its predecessor, the Scram 411. The engine’s bore size has been expanded by 3mm, boosting torque at lower RPMs for faster starts. Further refining the ride is the transition to a new 6-speed gearbox from the previous 5-speed version, accompanied by a lighter clutch for smoother operation and better handling.

Refined Hardware

The Scram 440 is built to tackle diverse terrains with ease. It sports a 19-inch front tire (100/90 profile) and a 17-inch rear tire (120/90 profile). The bike is equipped with a robust braking system, featuring a 300 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc. Its suspension system comprises 41 mm front forks offering 190 mm of wheel travel and a rear monoshock with 180 mm of travel, enhancing comfort across various surfaces. The inclusion of dual-purpose tires, available in both tubed and tubeless options, along with dual-channel ABS (with switchable rear ABS for off-road precision), underscores its versatility.

Modern Features and Design

The Scram 440 stands out with its modern touches such as an all-LED headlight and taillight setup. However, it retains halogen bulbs for its indicators. Standard features include an analog-digital instrument console, with the optional Tripper Pod for GPS navigation. Riders will appreciate the convenience of a USB Type-A charging port and a new, ergonomically designed single-piece saddle. The motorcycle is available in five colors spread over the Trail and Force variants, with the Trail option featuring tubed spoke wheels and tube tyres, and the Force option equipped with tubeless alloy wheels for a contemporary look and maintenance ease.

Pricing and Variants

The Scram 440 not only advances in terms of technology and performance but also offers these enhancements within an accessible price bracket, making it an attractive option for enthusiasts seeking adventure and efficiency in their rides.
