It could be called the Reliance Jio effect with one more service provider BSNL offering unlimited calling and limited data usage for its pre-paid customers. Other private service providers have already extended this facility.
BSNL is offering now unlimited local and BSNL to BSNL STD with 300 MB data for only Rs. 99 with validity for 28 days to its prepaid consumers. The offer will be valid in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Assam, West Bengal, Assam and Jharkhand.
BSNL has unveiled this combo STV and offered Unlimited Local and STD BSNL to any network with 1GB data for only Es 339 and a validity window of 28 days on pan India basis. BSNL is already offering 3G unlimited for 1099 with a validity of 30 days. According to Director Consumer Mobility, R.K. Mittal that the tariff which is being provided by the state-run mobility company is one of the most competitive and will provide affordable and best services to its subscribers.
The entry of Reliance Jio with its 4G services has led to rivals scurrying to provide same schemes offering free calls and limited data use with a price in the range of Rs. 150 and Rs.350 with a 28 days validity. Vodafone has also launched similar offers. However, Reliance Jio is offering free 4G mobile services which include calls and data till March 31. Reliance Jio is a late entrant into the telecom scenario, but it has already raked in 52 million customers in 83 days.
Reliance Jio is proposing a Rs.149 plan under which it will offer free calls to any network in the country along with 300 MB 4G data during the day and unlimited usage ion the night. The offer has a validity of 28 days. Reliance is also offering unlimited access to music, movie, TV News and apps along with video calling and SMS for free.
